Crown Valley of Hope

We have partnered with Crown Valley of Hope in Ndola, Zambia to help educate, clothe and feed 500 orphans daily. This ministry was founded for the sole purpose of alleviating the suffering, misery and anguish brought about by the AIDS pandemic. Our Someone Who Cares child sponsorship program is helping. For $175 per year, we are able to purchase books, uniforms, food, bedding and one pair of shoes for an orphan. Without this program innocent children would end up on the streets!

A Miracle At Walmart

Yesterday I entered Walmart with lots of thoughts on my mind! The questions most people think today..”how can i make this work , what is going to happen if this doesn’t work etc…”  Once I entered the store I got engrossed in my search for stuff crusing down the isles looking for school supplies. As usual I end up with more stuff than I can carry so I head to the register!

I am a little alarmed as the young man calls me over because he has some divice around his head. I asked him what was wrong and he goes to tell me he has a fatal lung disease! Number one, I am shocked that he is working and two can’t believe how kind and polite he seemed.

I stood there for a moment and considered what I should do! I asked him if he knew that Jesus was a healer? He said, “ He was the only thing that kept me alive!” I told him about my son the issues we have fought and about my Dad dying of a disease. I guess I was trying to seem sympathic and relate to his circumstance! Or maybe working up to ask him if I could pray for him! Well, I just boldly asked him if I could pray for him! Right their at the register I layed my hands on him and prayed for God to touch and heal his lungs! I am building my faith. I will not let a sick or lame person go by that I will not engage in prayer for them! I am beleiving for miracles! Miracles at Walmart! Miracles in the parking lot! Miracles in and outside of the church! I want to see God move and show off who He really is to this generation.

He is not Old, Stuffy and out of touch! He is in the here and now! He knew the future before we walked in it and Nothing surprises him! Many people are amazed by the movie INCEPTION. Living in the dream! So, complex…I want to live in the here and now with the Power of God touching and changing lives!

Can’t wait to go back to Walmart! Looking for the young man who is free!!!

Luke 4:18-19 NKJV

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.

Get Real

Today I took Lauren to the oral surgeon to have her wisdom teeth removed.  While I was waiting, I started a conversation with a young man who was waiting for his girlfriend.  He inquired about the book I was reading, “God Still Speaks”.   We immediately jumped into a very deep conversation about religion, spiritualism, and God. He informed me he was a spiritual young man searching for truth. He also mentioned that he once had faith, but lost it because of a dysfunctional family. His mom had been married several times and each relationship became more abusive towards him.

During our conversation, I realized he was looking for peace, validation, acceptance, and love. I shared with him the difference between religion, rules, and a relationship with Christ. I told him spiritual stories about how God spoke and lead me at different times of my life. He was open and seemed very interested.

At this point, he shared one of his spiritual encounters about going to a temple and having a spirit of a dead person come into him.  At the end of the meeting, they commanded the spirit to leave him. When it left, he began to cry, something that is uncommon to him. He mentioned that he felt a peace he had never experienced before and wished he could always live in that state of peace.

My spiritual antennas were going haywire. All I could think was how much this young man needed Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit in his life. Unfortunately, I was called and had to leave the waiting room. I wrote him a note with my name and asked him to read the book of Acts where the true church began, miracles happened through common people, and the power of the Holy Spirit transformed lives.

This is the gospel we should walk in. We should never lose sight of any opportunity to share the good news. No situation is a coincidence, but a God-assignment.  Be open to what comes your way and please share it.
